So I did. a "run" this am - at a very low level as I am tapering for a race on Sunday - ...it says "TEMPO"...2.6 Aerobic,. BUT I used the OHR and not a strap and the HR readings are a bit too high in my opinion on the OHR so maybe that is causing it to be labelled as a TEMPO... Time shall tell on more normal activities over the next few days!

So not fixed then, there's no way Aerobic 2.6 should count as tempo. Crazy that Garmin can't at least revert back to the previous working version of run classification.

For a base or recovery run, the OHR should be good enough.

But you said HR readings are too high. Due to new FW or due to external factors ie your body / weather ?

And I guess all this affects the Race Time predictions as well? as it assumes one is training at a higher level.... Fortunately I had my own workouts loaded that I have been following.

I think due to natural conditions more than firmware the OHR is never that accurate for me. There is no way when I am "jogging" at 6 min per km I get a near 160 BPM or an average of 135. 160 is almost Race HR pace (I am 59)

As an example, yesterday I did a short run at 5 min per Km and average HR (using strap) was 117. AEROBIC 2.2 = Recovery which sounds plausible.

I did have an unusual issue this am in that after reviewing the Morning Report and attempting to exit it crashed the watch and it restarted. Not had that before.  Will see what tomorrow holds.
