looks like a new beta is out: 12.25

who's going to take one for the team? ;)

in all seriousness, i think i'm going to stick with 11.12. especially since the change log doesn't seem to mention the cadence issue with 12.23 being fixed.

i'll be curious what some of your brave and sacrificial members find out if you choose to try out the beta.

  • Waiting for it to be available to download. I wish there was a way to get the file (as before) to upload manually ...

  • I'll probably receive it tomorrow morning.

This seems to be the timing if the last Public Beta was any guide: the Release Candidate (Public Beta) appears on a Thursday, people get offered automatic installs on the Friday morning, and the full release will follow exactly a week later.

Given that this is a bugfix beta rather than a headline-grabbing feature drop (like 12.23 was) it's more likely that Garmin will hold back the timing of the full release of this if the fixes don't work.

  • Just came on my Garmin Express Web and I'm installing...Lets see how tomorrow goes.......

  • Mine is installing as we speak; it is the release candidate so it will be release to all soon; here's from from Garmin-Dan message:

"This update, version 12.25, is a Release Candidate. "Release Candidate" means that this exact software version is planned to “Go Live” as a public update as long as no critical issues are observed. All copies of version 12.25 will be identical, so there are no differences in functionality whether you install version 12.25 as a Public Release Candidate or wait for the update to be a Live public update."

  • keep us posted. do you run with or without a strap? i'm curious because i haven't heard anyone who uses the watch for cadence who does not have a cadence issue. i would be frustrated to update and lose reliable cadence measurements since my old Garmin HRM strap only does heart rate.

  • Hi Derek . Normally yes but I can try without if it’s useful .

  • if you are willing to potentially, sacrifice your data, that would be great, but please don't feel you have to test it if things like that are important to you.

  • Going to fully charge now before the night and then see how we go, have a race Sunday so not doing to much before then but will do short run tomorrow without the HRM and see what happens .

  • thanks for serving our community with this attempt. hope you are rested and ready for your sunday race.

  • Happy to try it . In the name of science . Thanks !
