Ran a mile in track mode. The distance was spot on but the GPS track is all over the place - just like in regular run mode. Anyone else having this trouble? Advice? Thanks.

All,
We have released a fix in the latest (non-beta) software release that should resolve the report for most users experiencing these symptoms. The software release should continue rolling out to all…

GPS is inaccurate on a track. Track mode basically just says to the watch that you will run 400m each lap (on the inner lane), but GPS will not be more accurate because of this. Anyway, it doesn't matter. All you need is accurate DISTANCE, not a straight GPS line..
Sorry but it's not true that gps is inaccurate on a track. I had the 945 before and after calibration the gps was uniformly spot on track. Now with 955 i also discovered last weekend that indeed the gps is not as it should be spot on the track lane. The distance is accurate but the gps trace is not, and it's an issue.
Thanks, good (or not) to know you are having the same issue. I realize it doesn't matter if the gps is perfect as long as distance is but my understanding was that track mode is supposed clean up the distance and the gps line. Maybe it will be corrected with a software update?

I have the problem on the 255. After a couple of rounds the track snaps near to the lane a ran in, but does not fit perfectly. On the next run it again needs a couple of rounds to snap on to the lane. I checked the running track folder on the watch and it was empty, so the calibration seems to not work properly. I followed the support instructions:
I submitted a support request on 11.09. but did not hear anything until now. Maybe because i wrote in german. Garmin-Kevin can you have a look? I give you permission to access my data on for this topic.
Hello riessi83Will you please start a thread in the FR 255 forums app? You can tag me there and also can you share the URL for this activity from Garmin Connect web? When you do, make sure that you set the privacy status of the activity to allow us to view it.
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9608124969; Full disclosure, on this activity I was experimenting with pulling distance data from Stryd pod.
Also see https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9594822204 - on this one distance was coming from GPS. I had already run on this track and yet it took a couple laps for the GPS to snap on and my running track folder was empty - just like riessi83 describes below.
Glad Garmin is monitoring this. Thanks for any input.
I think I set the privacy settings correctly but if not, let me know. Thanks.
Hey arkrunner Thank you for the links! Looks like the activities are still set to private. For instructions on making these accessible ,please see Adjusting Privacy Settings in Garmin Connect.
