Garmin 955 solar battery drain after update 12.23

My 955 was working great, no battery drain issues.

Updated to 12.23 and now have severe battery drain.

Seems to be from the watch constantly syncing with GC.

I can disconnect watch from phone and manually sync and the problem stops but that's is not a solution.
