You can’t love a watch that costs 600 euros if its gps doesn’t work properly. And other bugs that really make it an immature watch. Be careful because I’m not the only one, that after the last update,…
Nobody has a watch that is flawless and works 100% because most of the issues are generic and in the software.
The fact that you apparently use the watch in a way that the issues are a problem for you
…The watch hardware is good, heart rate sensor is excellent, it fits well, the buttons are okay, I like the strap a lot. I did not have major battery issues so far. I dont like the large black ring around…
Amazing piece of technology. Not perfect and a few things that even drive me nuts like HR zones - but still amazing.
I still smirk when reading threads complaining about battery life on this forum when my wife still can't go a full day without having to recharge her Apple watch and I'm on day 15 with an average of 4 daily GPS-tracked endurance activities on my Garmin with 10% battery left since my last charge.
Overall, I’m very happy with the 955. I noticed the issue last night with the rendering of the line across the screen since the latest firmware update, but apart from that, it’s been brilliant. 99% of my activities are running, and using it for structured workouts and general time / distance based running. GPS accuracy has been excellent, way better than the 945.
I am happy with the device. It reminds me of the fenix 6x that little by little with the updates it was improving.
It has so many functions that it is normal that some are still with problems.
But overall very happy with the user experience and the performance in the main metrics.
I calmly wait for new updates.

I dont like the large black ring around the display, but I can live with it. Please bring infinity display in the next gen. GPS accuracy is great!
Not okay is the software, they should have just used the well matured fenix 7 software. Garmin needs to up their game here. Feels like the development team was outsourced to Afghanistan or something.
Really bad (!!!) is the communication on the bugs and other issues. Not even a simple "we are working on the bugs a, b,c". Shows that the company doesnt want to admit to faults and is not really interested. That is not the watches fault. The watch is okay. Garmin team response is not.
You can’t love a watch that costs 600 euros if its gps doesn’t work properly. And other bugs that really make it an immature watch. Be careful because I’m not the only one, that after the last update, is having a really poor GPS track, go see the thread that was opened for this. We must help each other, and hope that mistakes and problems are resolved as soon as possible. If you don’t have any of these problems, then maybe you are very lucky, but you don’t have to pretend that this watch is perfect. Unfortunately it is not, but it can become, if Garmin listens to us.

I love running and I love my Forerunner 955
Thanks for the topic, it is needed here
No major issues with the 955 and I am really loving it. It worked flawless for my Ironman last weekend and still had 40% battery after almost 13hours (non solar)
There is no "perfect" electronic/computer device on the market and probably never will be. I think Garmin has done a good job of addressing bugs ASAP with their first few updates and I expect that it will only get better over time.
My 910 and 920 were good for years.
I've been using a Polar Vantage for 3+years and that certainly wasn't/ isn't the bug-fest I'm reading about in this 955 forum (like the 935 and 945 were too before them).
There's some great things on the 955. The optical HR works better than any I've had before by a long way. Multi band gps when OW swimming is so much more accurate than anything I've had before. But the need for f/w updates to fix multiple problems introduced by other f/w updates can be frustrating.
