I think most people here think the same: Garmin should deliver what they promise, but what they deliver is buggy all over.

Tried to look the manual for answers. It has this couple of times, but does not help what tap the map should do.
"To use the touchscreen, tap the map, tap and drag to position the crosshairs, and press UP or DOWN to zoom in or out."

Would be nice to have the beta forum for reporting issues as reporting to normal Garmin support is like painful and do a factory reset if it helps and if that doesn't then RMA. I'm not up to that, this kind of has to be widely known issue.

My 955 is still on 10.10. Connect tells me that there ist no Update available, i have synced via bt and WLAN several times.

Doesn't seem the case here, 2% in 40 minutes... but will keep an eye on it.

Updated yesterday via Garmin Express. Update was not seen, but was done with Map-Update and suddenly suggested at the watch.

First impressions:

- sleep data for this night ist not available

- freeze after ending the morning report (half display shows the report other half shows cutted time widget?)

- swipping at maps (in activity and in maps/navigation app) seems to be better (with known restrictions compared to Fenix7)

- no issues to battery drop till now

Hope, that Garmin is still working on next updates. As a loyal Garmin user, I'm still surprised how Garmin could release a new watch at this buggy stage. Never have had so much issues with a top FR-/Fenix Model :-(

Updated yesterday. Sleep data was available, morning report didnt crash. Only lost 1% battery during the night. Or 2% not sure.

Good to know! Maybe it was a one-time event. I'm optimistic that Garmin will improve the firmware so we will have the experience as expected.

Got offered the update this morning. The biggest change in behaviour appears to be that you can no longer swipe away notifications, but need to use the back button.

Out of interest, can you actually view the content of your notifications? I can’t on the 955, just the main pop up, then it clears if I press to see the content.

It shows exactly the same amount of detail in the notifications as in 10.10.

However, the splash to say which app it came from is shown for less time.

Swiping needs to be done over more of the face of the watch to be effective now. You need to swipe from edge to edge left to right for it to be recognised.
