Anyone have this available?
I think most people here think the same: Garmin should deliver what they promise, but what they deliver is buggy all over.
Don´t feed the 7413611-Troll :-)
He´s just living in his own world and can…
Maybe it is still too buggy to distribute..
And let’s be honest who look at a map when running?
I look at the map when I run ultramarathon in the mountains, like many other runners ;-)
Finally got it a few minutes ago !
The touch is definitely improved, no more "back to previous page" problems with the "right swipe". If you do it slowly you can see the "page" moving right and you can cancel if need be.
Still no double tap to zoom in map mode unfortunately or scrolling without a long menu press and "pan/zoom" selection.
Will see if the post-activity power drain is still there later today...
I got it only if the watch was connectet to wifi instead of the connect app. Maybe you can try this as well.
weird...refreshing Garmin Express didn't work for me, and when i connected my watch, it crashed. but upon restarting Garmin Express the update was available.
it uploaded it to my watch and when i clicked Install, the watch crashed and restarted and got in that horrid loop until i connected it back to my computer. where i again got to sync things and this time, when i clicked install now, it did what was expected : showed it was installing new software and now it finally just came up and said touch software has been updated 11.12.
yikes! so FlipStone, i seriously am not sure i would update if i were in your case and you feel things are stable enough for your run on Saturday. then again, you have time between now and then to figure it out. (my fiasco here was only a few minutes :p )
as suspected, the backlight bug still exists, but let's hope these endless crashing/reboot cycles are gone and maybe i can use maps while doing activities. time will tell...
Thanks I got it new touch screen is way better. Navigate seems to work better, no crashes so far.. hopefully it'll continue to behave, I might disable auto updates for now if this sw version remains stable
this "bug" was always fixable in 10.10. you just need to turn it off (go under User Profile settings and turn off auto updating)
I know, I'm a bit of an idiot in that regard but update seemed to go well here. It feels a bit more responsive maybe to touch but other then that all bugs and issues seem to stop be there. No surprise.
So not sure why we had to wait so long for this update, hope the next one comes soon and actually is a proper one .. sigh
we are kindred spirits and of similar thought. i don't see what the big "to do" is about this update if it's just a touch interface enhancement.
yet, given what i heard from Garmin about the crashing while viewing maps, i'm having a tiny bit of hope that maybe that bug is fixed. else, i don't see much that comes from this update for me. i honestly just want a stable watch that doesn't crash at this stage.
don't worry about extra features...just please make sure the watch doesn't crash when i'm trying to use it to measure an activity.
