Velcro strap 22mm vs one comes with 955

Hello

I am thinking to get one from  (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092Q6KJ5D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BRMNA2FH9TGW7NAADDJE?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 (Abanen Hook and Loop Quick Dry Watch Band) which is almost same as Yooside one.

  • I know one comes with 955 is pretty good and wondering if velcro strap would be better for measuring HR correctly when long running/sprint/biking and so on.
  • Is there any other benefit I can get from velcro strap other than comfort ?
  • I am also wondering how often I need to wash the band.
  • Thinking to get two so that I can swap after each run and wondering if anyone is doing this. Because I am worried about smell from the band due to sweat.

    I had https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256803325771448.html, about 4-5usd total w/ shipping for me. With that said I prefer the one with the plastic tab, which is definitely more expensive (10-15usd), but also worth it, IMO

    Can't get your link to work but I suppose it's the one that folds on both sides? It works but less convenient (need to squeeze your hand through) and less secure.

    The one with the plastic tab, aka "Yooside" is allegedly (see above) available for purchase on AE for £2.14 (note the accuracy of the price) but a link has yet to be produced ;-)

    Just remove the comma, Garmin forums included that as part of the URL link for some reason :) But yes it's the "fold on both sides" and its fine, but I do not like it as much as the one with the plastic tab. I bought the one with the plastic tab on Amazon for more money - as it was about the same price as AE (actually, cheaper!), but I'm in the US.  That's the same one others linked previously https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B092Q6KJ5D - while its a bit expensive all things considered it's my favorite band as it doesn't fray, it's comfortable, easy to remove and fairly secure too. 

    I found this in EU for example, which is not the same one but seems similar enough: https://www.amazon.fr/YINETTECH-Bracelet-auto-agrippant-compatible-poignet/dp/B0B27XB7L4 this is meant to fold both side but has tabs so won't fray, and I assume, you can also just wear it by looping only one side like the other one.. might even be able to just cut off one tab and use a lighter to make sure it stays in place (since it goes inside the fold, it won't fray easily / wont be an issue if it does, just like the other type of strap.

    I'd looked into models with these "tabs" a few weeks ago but after receiving one I realized it was more of an "optical" thing on the pictures and that there were in fact no tabs. Your link seems different though.

    I'm surprised the "Yooside" hasn't been copied yet if only to be made available in more colors !

    the ones i linked definitely had the tab for me. i also ordered the other one since and it has the tabs, however, the velcro on one side is on the wrong side. not a huge deal but not as tidy when you wrap it on your wrist

    Yeah the tab is there but it's very narrow, it's only purpose is to prevent the velcro from fraying it seems. I have the dark blue one with an orange lborder.

    I prefer that one and the "Yooside" that thread through the pins as those with tabs leave a big gap with the watch (and have a super narrow pin), they are available in many more colors though ;-)
