Forerunner 945 - Disconnects from Connect App on Samsung Galaxy s24 ultra

Every time I pick up the watch after being away (not home) even for just 20 minutes, the Garmin Connect app shows the device as no longer connected and I have to re-connect the device with the PIN and the entire setup process as if I was connecting it for the first time. The app shows the watch under devices as Registered to Garmin Connect, just not registered/connected to the phone.

This is frustrating as it also drains the watch battery and I can't rely on being able to pick up the watch and go for a run/ride/swim without planning to make sure I re-connect/register and charge the watch.

  • I have the same problem, but when i try to reconnect it to my phone he can't even find my watch. Despite it's bluetooth being on, restarting both phone and watch.... All started after a software update I did earlier this week.

  • i have the same issue after updating. fr 945 is not visible or when it is and i am trying to connect with garmin' connect ask for a pin but before ending the pin number is not visible anymore or the pin is not right

  • same problem here as well with xiaomi, and i tried also with apple and samsung

  • Same issue, forerunner 55, Samsung A15

  • Same here... tried to reconnect. The BT challenge code appears but disappears quickly.
Did a factory reset on the watch. Did reset all BT connections on my phone (S25 Ultra) and still the same behavior.
The Connect App recognizes the Watch but the challenge request vanishes to fast or doesn't show up and the app tells me the pairing failed.

I remember that I had the problem in the past... but not sure how I fixed it or if it was a different watch/phone.
Kinda sick of it and not sure if I should stop buying a Samsung phone or a Garmin device.
