The audio prompt reduces the music volume.

I listen to my music from my android phone and it automatically lowers the volume of the music playing for the audio prompt and then once the prompt is complete the music volume stays at low volume.

This was not happening, yesterday this problem started, I have to take off the headphones and put them back in and the volume returns to normal.

How can this be resolved?

  • Same here, since last week. I use a forerunner 55. I tried to reset setting on phone and watch, it does not work, you can save the trouble. It has come with the Connect 5.2 update. It's very annoying, unacceptable. Garmin, fix ASAP!

  • Same here fenix 6 & shokz. After every audio prompts I have to pause unpause the music to restore volume, which is super annoying. I hope this gets fixed asap (and while they are at it make audio prompts configurable per activity)

  • it is in v5.2 of the Garmin Connect App Mobile. there are a few threads in this forum about it. Sometimes it lowers volume, sometimes it pauses the music. Personally I have to unpause the music multiple, multiple times during my run. Every three minutes because it prompts my heart rate, an on top of that, every km because it prompts my tempo. So todays 90 minutes run it was 29+16=45 times unpausing manually. Annoying!

  • I am having the same issue, and also having the same issue where audio prompts is OFF but still announcing. This is so very frustrating.

  • To me, when i turn prompts OFF it does not drop the music volume anymore, but i miss having a sound alert for my laps. As a tip, i notice that to really turn the lap alerts OFF i need to do 2 things: In activity Options>Audio Prompts> swith off the 'lap alerts', but also switch off the 'pace or speed alerts' and 'heart rate alerts'... it seems they go separately from one another. Hope it helps. And really hope that Garmin fixes this!

  • I have a Forerunner 745 and this started happening last week to me, also. Highly annoying as I'm frequently on a bike and pulling my phone out of my jersey and fiddling around with it on the fly is not fun. I've thought about disabling audio prompts until this issue is sorted out.

  • Same issue w/ Andriod Garmin Connect 5.2, Fenix 6, Shokz Open Run.

I've disabled audio prompts because it's so annoying; however, I like the audio prompts and I want to know how Garmin fixes this issue so I can re-enable them.

  • I've been unsuccessful in disabling audio prompts. In the app it says it's off but then the damn thing still talks to me. Do I need to turn it off on the device as well or something?

  • I've got the same volume bug after an audio prompt with a Garmin 245 music, I think the bug started with the app version 5.2.
When is Garmin going to address this issue? rather disappointing it's taking so long to solve this.

  • Same here since last week (Forerunner 245 and Aftershokz). Strange behaviour because on Spotify it just lowers the audio a lot while in my podcast app it just completely mutes it. Annoying.
