The audio prompt reduces the music volume.

I listen to my music from my android phone and it automatically lowers the volume of the music playing for the audio prompt and then once the prompt is complete the music volume stays at low volume.

This was not happening, yesterday this problem started, I have to take off the headphones and put them back in and the volume returns to normal.

How can this be resolved?

  • Garmin needs to fix the bug in Garmin Connect. I also got the same issue. It isn't device dependent. It is all about the Garmin Connect app.

I've turned off the audio prompts since it was unbearable. I had to press stop/play button every time an audio prompt had been played. It works pretty ok on the watch since it is just once every lap, but on my Edge with navigation it didn't work at all since it tells me how to navigate.

  • Same issue for me.  Only started happening last week so I guess there has been an update, I have the Garmin Fenix 6.

I need to disconnect Bluetooth before my run to ensure it doesn't happen.

Looking forward to a solution, as it seems I need to reboot my phone for it to reset.

  • Glad it's not just me with this issue. Also started happening last week.
Will just turn off audio prompts until they fix the garmin connect app.

  • I've been having this issue this week too.

music volume not returning to normal level after an autoprompt.

Garmin Fenix 6 watch with Shokz open run pro headphones.

  • Same situation here with the Forerunner 745 and Aftershokz.

  • Same situation here with the Forerunner 745 and Aftershokz.

  • Same issue with Garmin 245. Definitely a Garmin Connect thing.

  • Glad to read this is a bug with the Connect app. I was losing my mind trying to troubleshoot my phone for why the volume would not return to normal. I must have resetted permissions 20 times! Wen Fix?

  • Yes, same thing here with my Fenix 6 Pro.  Really annoying so will try to follow other suggestions of switching off the lap audio prompt to see if that works.

  • I'm having the same issue and, on top of that, I can't seem to disable my audio prompts despite having them "off" in the connect app. It's super frustrating. Anyone else having both issues? I'm using a 245.
