Garmin 945 skin rash/burn

I have a serious skin irritation under where I used to wear my Garmin 945 … about 1 inch in diameter.
I stopped wearing the watch 6 weeks ago as soon as I noticed it and it still hasn’t healed.

im wondering if people who had this problem can pls contact me to tell me what the best thing is to help the healing process.

with thanks

  • Ok...an update !

So, I have now had this 'condition' since May 1st so its been about 4 1/2 months...

I tried multiple treatment approaches varying from herbal treatments to  prescription Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream.

The doctors/skin specialists just scratched their heads given it wasnt responding to anything...

The 'sore' got alot worse after the first post...the flesh under the lesion became lumpy like scar tissue.

I will post a progression of pictures...but it now has finally settled (without any further treatment) and the lumps under the skin are dispersing.

I does look alot better than it did...but still hasnt fully healed yet.

Suffice to say I have not worn the watch again and do not plan to !

    Scott.

  • this was about 12 weeks after it first appeared

  • It should be noted that this is not a medical forum. Maybe you should post your pictures on some medical forum if you're still requiring medical assistance. We are no medical experts here. Frankly speaking, I also don't want to see medical pictures here in this forum. Yes, some users can react allergic to the watch and components but the medical side of things is not really scope of this forum (in my opinion).

Just to note, I was also allergic to the blue band of my previous Forerunner 945 but in no case I would have posted pictures of my "medical progress" here.

  • I think its useful for people with this same reaction to know what to expect...that it does not heal as it should and is a long lasting condition...its worth noting that i had been wearing the forerunner 735XT for years before i upgraded to the 945 this year....this was specifically a result of wearing that particular model.

  • Just my opinion but as you noted, reactions are highly individual and nobody here in this forum can provide guidance on medical issues, the pictures are probably irritating for most readers. Affected users should see a dermatologist and go from there. This is not a forum for medical students or patients but a forum about Garmin devices.

  • Most users will not be interested in a skin rash topic. For those who are, this is very useful. It shows how serious the condition can be. Nobody was asking you for medical guidance.

  • It's still a medical issue and completely out of the scope of a Garmin forum. It's of no help for affected users if everyone posts their irritating pictures here, this is something for a medical person to look at. That's my opinion I'm maintaining, but it's up to the admins to decide.

  • Closing thread at this time. Please reach out to Garmin Support as mentioned by Garmin earlier in this thread...
