Vo2 max - can it actually get stuck in software?

I do appreciate this is unlikely, BUT is there a chance that for some reason my sessions aren’t being reflected in the vo2 max figure?

I used to go through regular ups and downs but it hasn’t changed for a long time. I have a big mixture of sessions set by my coach and am regularly getting pbs including a new HM pb a month ago.

You can see in the sceeenshots from ages ago until recent and how it’s really flattened out (I had the watched ages before this btw).

I do appreciate it is what it is but I find keeping track of it fun and it’s boring now it’s not changing Joy

  • Yeah I and other people have mentinoed it also starting around that time frame.   My post last week:

    https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-945/312998/run-vo2max-values-stuck

In the past on a weekly basis I would get a up/down result (especially if windy, overdressed, hungover, long run, etc)  now... nothing.  Which really it shouldn't change much.  But I would expect it to change up and back down at least once over a few months.

I have even tried faking it by lowering my weight a couple pounds on a nice cool morning... no change.

Not saying at 41yrs old... with a good base of endurance training that my vo2max will be changing much... but it always has, so now with the no change in forever (with no documentation saying they 'updated' it...) seems just a bit suspicious.
