On my Forerunner 945 LTE, the following 7 maps are installed, and the first 5 are activated by default:
- [x] Worldwide DEM Basemap, NR
- [x] TopoActive Europe 2020.20, North East
- [x] TopoActive Europe 2020.20, South West
- [x] Time Zone Map
- [x] Garmin DEM Map EU 2020.10
- [-] CourseView Medium SE Europe, Middle...
- [-] CourseView Medium SE Pacific
Does anybody know (or can link to a documentation) what these maps are good for?
I'd like to know which I can deactivate (to improve reponsiveness of the very laggy and sometimes unresponsive map, that performs much much worse than shown in the many product reviews on youtube).
What I found out by now - just by trial:
- Worldwide DEM Basemap, NR
- Map of the whole planet earth incl. sea and land areas, country borders and only big roads and rivers without further details.
- --> I assume: Not needed in normal use unless I want to scroll to another part of the world/other area and need some orientation where I am when zooming out.
- TopoActive Europe 2020.20, North East
- Detailed data incl. small streets and paths, for some part of Europe
- TopoActive Europe 2020.20, South West
- Detailed data incl. small streets and paths, for another part of Europe
- Time Zone Map
- Doesn't show ANYTHING. What is this good for? Why is it activated by default?
- Garmin DEM Map EU 2020.10

- CourseView Medium SE Europe, Middle...
