Thank you. One question before I do it.

UnderSystem > Reset, I see:
- Reset Default Settings
- Delete All Activities
- Reset Totals
- Delete Data and Reset Settings

Is any of the above equivalent to the solution you are proposing?
 

No. The factory reset procedure is different, although it will also reset all of the above.

To run a MASTER RESET proceed like this:

1. Turn off the watch
2. Keep pressed DOWN + START + BACK
3. Press ON until display turns on, keep the other buttons pressed
4. After the 1st beep, release START
5. After the 2nd beep, release the other buttons

Please be aware that this will delete EVERYTHING personal on your watch, be sure to synchronise it with your account before executing this procedure. Afterwards your watch will be fully reset and you can immediately continue with setup.

Head to the garmin.com website and in the upper right corner click "Support".

I had the same issue. Happened suddenly in the middle of a Yoga activity. Contacted Garmin and they are sending a replacement unit.
