Contours don't appear on USA maps (Forerunner 945)

Contours aren't appearing on my Forerunner 945 maps (in the USA).

This is a brand new device purchased in the USA.
In Settings > Activities & Apps > Map > Map Settings > Map > Configure Maps, I have the all four maps enabled. I'm a bit surprised they are so Europe-centric:
- Worldwide DEM Basemap, NR
- TopoActive Europe 2021.20, Central
- TopoActive Europe 2021.20, West
- TopoActive Europe 2021.20, East
I have Use Sys. Settings turned off so I can set the following:
- Detail is set to High.
- Draw Contours is turned On.

When I view a map on the device, I do see road and rivers and an activity from the one track I recorded, but no contours.

Ideas? Thanks!

You have clearly two problems. You have EMEA version of the device. TopoActive does not have contours.

Solutions to get the contours is buy map that has ones from Garmin or install some OSM (OpenStreetMap) maps that have them.

Thanks for that. Is there a downside/upside of having the EMEA version? I just purchased it from the Garmin Store on Amazon. Worth returning?

You don't have the TopoActive US maps, that's the downside. But you are not alone. Maybe US version is out of stock and they don't want to manufacture more 945 ;)

Well, I doubt it's a manufacturing issue because I expect the hardware is the same. Amazon shows it as 010-02063-00 but the box is labeled 010-02063-01 (in microprint).

Hardware is same, preloaded maps are not the same, and probably box and the manuals inside it differ, 010-02063-01 is EMEA version, 010-02063-00 is US.

And by manufacturing I mean that maybe Amazon couldn't get hands more 010-02063-00 so they are selling 010-02063-01 as Garmin is manufacturing 955 already and don't want to do new run for 945 at this moment.

As I'm expecting 955 released in Q2.
