Battery consumption with unconnected sensors.

Occasionally I'll use my 945 when doing a zwift workout on my kickr core. I'll have the watch connect to the HRM chest strap I wear and also to the power meter/cadence on the trainer.

My question is, 'Once the workout is over and I turn the trainer off, but the sensors are not turned off on the watch itself does this lead to increased battery consumption?' I'm assuming it will do as the watch is continuing to search for the trainer which I've turned off.

Thanks.

Pete

  • The watch search for sensors and use them when you select an activity and do the activity. As soon as the activity is ended it will no longer use or search for the sensors.

So, you don't have to worry about that.

  • That makes sense and is good to know. Thanks for your reply Thumbsup

  • Rotundamente sí tiene un mínimo de consumo de batería. Hay que tener en cuenta que el reloj sigue teniendo este proceso activo en segundo plano. Yo he hecho la prueba con el en ambos estados, y es incuestionable

  • The watch will also search for any sensors anytime you are in Sensors and Accessories or have any activity selected. However, when on the normal watch face there shold be no searching for any sensors.

  • Thanks for your reply. From Spanish, this translates as

'It absolutely does have a minimum battery consumption. Keep in mind that the clock continues to have this process active in the background. I have done the test with it in both states, and it is unquestionable'

So then, a differing point of view.
