FR 945 Frozen even after a reset.

My FR 945 froze and I tried to restart the device but it still frozen. There is a a way to reset to factory settings without going through Settings > System > Reset? With the screen frozen I can't even see the Menu options.Anyone else had the same problem? Any guess of how can I fix it?

  • You can do that if a classic reset not working :

    • Power off the device
    • Before powering the watch back on, hold down the Back/Lap button (depending on your watch model).
    • With the Back/Lap button still held down, press the power (Light) button to power on the watch.
    • Continue holding the Back/Lap button until you see “Restore Default Settings” on the watch face. Release the Back/Lap button.
    • Select Yes.
  • I tried this but the screen continues frozen. I can't see “Restore Default Settings” on the watch face.

  • An another ulimate method if all previous not working.

    Try to connect your watch on a computer (close Garmin Express if opened it) and remove all files in watch. Some files cannot be deleted, you can ignore it.

    After, disconnect your watch on your computer. The watch will restart and take several minutes,while the watch recreates the files.

    Once the watch was restart, connect your watch to your computer and open Garmin Express. It will download and all missing files like Languages, Map, Timezone, etc ... in the watch. And after that, if you would to restore your running profile (with VO2, training status ...), connect your watch on Connect App on your smartphone and restore your data.

    This method does not brick your watch, I've already done this method and it works without any problem.
