Battery Drain since few days

Hello,

Since few days, I find that there is an abnormal battery drain. Without doing any activity and with only the heart rate and activity monitoring activated I lose 10% / day whereas before it was maximum 5% / day.Do you also have this kind of problem?

Thanks

  • The specs say that the battery will hold up to two weeks in smartwatch mode. Your previous results were 14 days + 6 gps activities before recharge which is way better than the specs and nothing anyone would expect from that watch.

I did a rough calculation and every 1 hour of gps activity is about 10 hours of smartwatch time. 6 gps activities for 1 hour each will be 60 hours of smartwatch time. The max time is 336 hours (14 days). (336-60)/24 = 11.5 days. With music it is a lot less. Music and gps will do about 34 hours of smartwatch time per hour. (336-34*6)/24 = 5.5 days.

  • Garmin recommends that we charge for a full hour, specially if the watch is quite old.

  • I experienced a huge battery drain last night. With 100% of battery I only powered off and on the watch. This morning the watch was dead :-O I have the last stable firmware (*). I use ActiFace as a watch face (for years, first in my 920, now on this with any issue). I disabled it in order to see the problem is there.

(*) Actually the previous one (the previous to the one that fix the training status). I powered off/on the watch trying to solve that issue.

  • absolutely useless

  • My battery drain has gone back to normal after switching off auto calibration for altimeter. I'm not sure if it's related to after GPS bug on New Year.

10% drain every day for smartwatch mode with Spo2 set to sleep only.

4-5 days of GPS mode daily. ~2hours daily.

  • I have FR945 since the end of November and I have noticed that: the percentage of the exhaust is not linear or rather it is from 100 to 30 and then a little bit faster from 29 to descend, in running activities with foot pod it consumes a little less, I loaded my Monday evening last week (5 hours of GPS activity with music and 2 without), this morning after about 235 hours I am at 21%. All disabled except activity and HR 24/24 OXpulse once a day, wifi once a day for download, GPS only run with music, RDP + HR ant + band and foot pod ble.

  • I have a 4 to 5% per day, no ohr/ pulseox, no no gps, no activity tracking, no notifications, and a watchface without seconds. This was not the case 3 months ago, when I bought the watch. Oh, and I also turned auto calibration off for the altimeter.

FR945 charged fully last Sunday, it was not used in any other capacity than as a desk clock (was not worn, no activities), totally empty this morning. Normally it lasts 14 days if unused. It also charged to 62% in 5 minutes and full in only 15, something that normally takes at least an hour. Is something off with the battery gauge? Watch 'thinks' it is empty while it is not?

  • That is the same problem I am having. My watch charges too quickly and also discharges very quickly. Besides, sometimes after finishing a workout using the GPS, it recovers around 2-3% battery without connecting to a power source. It seems that the battery gauge needs calibration. I am going to discharge the watch completely and charge it again to 100% this weekend to see whether it improves.

  • Every now and then i keep having a battery drain.... First seemed to be related to the big north America map that I had to deselect to offline. But still having recurring battery drains. Happens now when I don't have the watch connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth. I disconnect it every evening and night. Battery drain comes back every three weeks or so
