  • if you got a new Garmin Firmware Update, don’t forget to make the hard reset after each installation (press 15sec the light button), after the watch switched off a second firmware installation process runs!

Can you please elaborate on when the watch switched off (or restarts???) a second firmware installation process runs?
Is that a theory or something Garmin has claimed?

  • It's based on experience that people usually have problems like high battery usage, which is solved by that. So at least I've taken it as part of my upgrade process.

There are no Garmin claims per se, but if you have problems, I think that's the first thing recommended to try, if it solves your problems.

  • To get the benefit of the 'improved recovery time', do we need to wear the 945 itself, or can it get the data from a different device (in my case, vivomove 3) and sync over physio true up?

  • Even worse now after I unpaired my earbuds, and restarted the watch.  Now the 945 won't even detect them in pairing mode.   To verify it is the Garmin, I unpaired the buds from my phone and repaired them with no issues.  Really disappointing that Garmin rushed the 5.15 beta to release even with this issue being reported.

  • I find that since version 5.00 the altimeter widget has deteriorated. Now, when you are in the mountains, the scale is also 4000 meters with a relative difference in height, even very low. Thus, the variations in altitude in detail are no longer noticeable at a glance. It was better before, that the ladder adapted to the variability of the altitude.

In the photo you can see how 1000 meters of altitude are compressed into a quarter of the small screen, a few hundred meters would not even be seen ...

I have not found any complaints about it: does it just bother me?

  • Did this scale appear after you went over 1km in elevation?  I have my watch set to feet.  I'm currently at 470 feet and my scale is still displaying 100 foot increments.

Update:  I intentionally calibrated my altimeter to 1472 feet.  My scale has switched to kilometers, but the max is 2k with 500m increments now.  To be honest, I don't recall what my scale looked like prior to this update and I've had many hikes between 3000-4000 feet.

  • The scale is in meters. With the new widget at 1000 meters, the scale is 2000 meters, so variations of a few hundred meters are practically no longer visible

  • Well, 3k would be better than 4k, but still I would like to see Garmin to make graphs that don't always start from zero.

  • I would like to see Garmin to make graphs that don't always start from zero

Mine isn't at zero.  I recalibrated back to the correct altitude of 470 feet.  When I open my widget, I'm currently showing 472 feet, the low end of the scale at 400' and the upper at 700'.  Each line on my scale is at 100' increments. When I manipulated the elevation to 1472' my scale changed to kilometers, 500m at the lowest and upper at 2k with 500m increments. I believe the higher your elevation, the larger the increment display on the graph.  What's your current elevation that your graph starts at zero?  As I said earlier, I don't recall if this was the case prior to the latest update.

  • I'm unable to successfully transfer .m4a music.  It shows up in express and explorer after transferring but after unplugging the watch stays on the charge screen longer than usual and the music is gone.
