Beta Forerunner 945 SW 5.15

Notes:

For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 5.09 to 5.15:

Fix some ANT sensor connection issues.
Fix some bugs in Pool Swimming activities.
Various other improvements and bug fixes.

Installation Instructions

Connect your Forerunner 945 to your computer using the USB cable.
Download and unzip Forerunner945_515Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
From the RemoteSW folder in the unzipped download, copy the GUP3114.GCD and 006B310705.GCD into the \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder on your device.
Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-500.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-500.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
To downgrade your peripheral software, place the GUP3114-604.GCD and the 006B310705-440.GCD from the RemoteSW\Downgrades folder into your device's \GARMIN\RemoteSW folder.

I have done it and even though I think battery usage is higher...

I don't remember if I had done the 15s of power/light button reset so I just did it now (because with only one hour of running and about 40 minutes of strength training my battery went from 100% to 17% in 24 hours). I hope the reset will fix this :-)

Does Garmin released final version 5.09?

Second thing it would be great if Garmin can unify power zones in Garmin devices ex. Connect, watches and bike computers. Bike computers ex. 830 got 9 Coggan iLevels, Garmin connect 6 levels, watch 7 levels. Is it so hard to verify and unify?

In my case only SW has changed... were the ANT and sensor fixes already in the previous beta, in the 6.09 update or something?

Can anyone post their version nrs?

They are the same as 5.09. And if you look the files at REMOTESW they are the same files in both beta.

And it's pointless to post the versions, you can look them from the SW 5.09 thread.

I think I also commented to this thread already that they are the same.

Battery looks good here.

Went from 100% to 84%.

- 1% over night.

- 15% for 3 hours and 40min of cycling with external HR and Power.

On the other hand, I have problems with OHR while swimming.

It doesn’t catch my HR for one swim and for two or three more, it was very off (low readings).

Already reported to the beta team.

I think the reset after an upgrade is a must do : it fixed my battery usage with 5.15 :-)

Thanks...didn't have the older beta anymore. But now see the other post of you, scanned for version nrs in the thread and thought I read most posts. But thanks for the confirmation

About 0.3%/hr of the last 2 days... That's including a ~55 minute run. Will keep an eye on it.
