  • I have seen another thing:

i did a bike ride and after a while, my watch had a message pop up that recovery is not proceeding like it should be (was riding in PowerZone 3 for almost an hour) and put almost a day up on the recovery time. After I saved and synced the activity on my edge, it corrected recovery downwards again.

  • I do and I was thinking to test that but then weather turned for the worst here... I will try! I wonder if it’s an H10 problem then...

  • Im a professional firefighter.

I've hear of volunteer firefighters, but have never heard the term professional firefighter. What is it that makes one's status go from amateur to professional in this field?  I'm not questioning it, I seriously don't know.

  • I had this workout today, it suggested beforehand aerobic and anaerobic benefit of 2.5 and 2.5 respectively. Post workout it gave values of 2.5 and 0.4. it looks to be like there is an error on the workout and 10 seconds  should be 1 minute sprints.

Volunteers do work in any profession and are called to the station if an emergency occurs. They dont stay at the station and are not getting paid for it. Im doing this in my off-duty time in the small town I live. If we get a call, we first have to drive there. This is time consuming and you also have to leave work where you earn your living when you get a call. Your boss is compensated for the time you are away, but its more and more a problem to find people doing this.

Professional firefighters do it for a living. In Germany, the threshold where a town must establish a professional department is 100.000 citizens. In our department, we stay for 24h at the station and are out in 90s after the alarm goes of. This system is established to provide faster service and to unburden the volunteers because we do all the small calls without them.
Because we are that long at the station and our education normally takes 1.5-2 years, we get more training and deeper knowledge. Also, a lot of us do more sports than volunteers. To become a professional, you usually have to have learned a trade in crafts like mason, carpenter, mechanic, etc.

Modus operanti are standardized per law in Germany, so there is no big difference in how an emergency is handled at the site. Also, different units can work together without training together.

I dont know where you are from, but a lot of countries have similar systems.

  • 'Added support for Daily Suggested Workouts, which are recommended based on previous activities'

I see that the training proposals are not correct.
For days already, Garmin has been advising to rest.
See the screens. I have even waited until I am fully recovered and the advice is REST.
Previously, if my recovery time was still 20 hours, the ring around the advice was green and Garmin advised me to do normal training.

    Who also noticed this?

  • Would be great to be able to see a "tomorrow's suggested workout". With a family, depending on the workout, I might need to plan my day differently.

  • Another pleasant change; I got a notiifcation this morning saying that because I had a bad night's sleep (true) my recovery time has been increased.

I went to the gym for the first time since they re-opened in England. It hurts and I did sleep badly with plenty of aches and pains. So, recovery almost doubled, which is about right.

i understand you, but it's sure impossible, because Garmin didn't know today how is your resting/sleep for tomorrow during night.

That means, you can do following, write down your daily suggested workouts (e.g. Excel Sheet) and take a wider look on it for over a month (i do it now), so you can see how often you get longer workouts, anyway, i reserve every day 1 to 2 hours for Training, so it's not a prob for me.

As example, yesterday i got a Base ride for 1:57:00, so Training was fine, but have eaten very late and my sleep was very bad, so today in the morning i looked on my Recovery Time:

Active recovery or rest is suggested due to poor sleep last night

Same message i have in the today workout suggestions, so the only workouts i can do today are:

30min Recovery Run or Ride with:

Estimated Benefit: Recovery Estimated Aerobic: TE:1.5 Estimated Anaerobic: TE 0.0
Estimated Benefit: Recovery Estimated Aerobic: TE:1.8 Estimated Anaerobic: TE 0.0

So for me it works very fine and logic!

  • I installed the beta shortly after it was first available and only just now realizing a problem with not having the pop-up screen alert during the first part of my runs showing my Performance Condition. It is also not being displayed in the activity details for the activity.

I’m going to use the HRM strap on my next run as it’s turned off cold here this week and see if that helps...

As a note, I do notice some owners of the new 745 are having the same problem with Performance Condition missing since their last software update (which is around the same time as the 945’s software update)

I will be sending details via email to beta support later today about this issue.

Otherwise everything else seems to be working...
