Blood pressure feature

I have had your vivoactive 3 smart watch going 2 years and now time to change it . I have noticed folks have been asking if you're going to incorporate blood pressure monitoring or measurement feature in your watches and so far no favorable answers. I am planning to change my watch by end of this year. If there isn't any blood pressure feature, I will opt to choose another vendor

Thanks!

  • You won't get an answer from Garmin here, this is a user-to-user forum.

  • There are others asking same questions,  that's why i asked. I am sure Garmin monitors such threads

  • Even if Garmin would add it, (i hope they don’t and they should focus on reliable HR data reading before adding anything new), it would be very useless, because you cannot have reliable and accurate measurment from the wrist in case of bloodpreassure. Even all wristcuff bloodpreassure monitors are very unreliable in terms of accuracy. Unfortunatelly only reliable accurate reading you can have with upperarm cuff reading.

  • I would like for Garmin to figure out a way to use the LEDs to check my blood for the presence of COVID antibodies too but I am pretty sure that isn't coming.  Slight smile

Seriously I think they should refine their OHR technology more to read, ya know, actual BPM (and HRV etc) before diving into the medical arena.  Even SPO2 has limited value in my mind, would much rather they concentrate their efforts to do something like BSX did with their lactate-threshold cuff reader.

  • In what Sport do you Need your BP?

wristbased BP is bullsh t. Always. I know there are a few devices wich claim that they can measure no with the optical sensor, that is even more bs than a wrist based design with a cuff. If you want go trust such a device, I also can provide you with a range of numbers.
i will also ensure that there are some concerning misreadings wich will make you go to ER because the number generator was of by 70-100%. This is daily business in rescue services with wristcuff BP monitors.

  • there are rumours that the new Index Smart Scale 2 will have BP measurment in the future, i think, this make more sense, but i dont know how accurate it will be!

  • This forum was created by garmin on their official website.

It is an irony that garmin is not even monitoring or reading this forum?

  • It was created as a user-to-user forum, not a Garmin tech support forum. There are other ways to get in touch with Garmin tech support. I agree it would be nice if there was more Garmin involvement here, but unfortunately this is the way they decided to play it.

  • They will soon find out  when their consumer base  count starts to go down.  I suggested a few things to fitbit when i was a subscriber. They introduced some of the features after i left
