The weather data or widget should load data from wifi instead of having to sync with the app to get the weather data. I know it can be improved. Like, being independent from the sync process.

I find this idea perfectly sound. For example, I, for one, do not like keeping unwanted apps on my phone. Neither do I want to enable GPS on my phone.

Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you want a weather app on your phone and why wouldn't you enable GPS either?

You might be the only one.
That's weird. I replied to 7055120, but now it's showing Dimitri Fruchtenstein. Is someone bouncing between users names?
Well I dare say that to have as seamless an experience as we currently do over Bluetooth Low Energy (meaning having the WiFi radio permanently powered on and scanning for available networks), the watch battery would not last long between charges at all. I guess this is why it's not done over WiFi. You would have keep remembering to do a WiFi sync to fetch the latest weather data. Maybe having the option to sync via WiFi manually when not BLE-connected would work though.
