I would guess that the GPS firmwares…
No use, it still takes a long time to acquire GPS while comparing with 935!!!
I tried 935/945 side by side, 935 acquires GPS right away. This is the fact, I don't know why Garmin still wants to hide it…

Would seem to fix that problem with Kayaking people are reporting: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-945/229946/forerunner-945-recording-massive-spike-in-speed
If the firmware release becomes "live", does it mean that to get the update I don't need to connect my watch to PC with Garmin Express, but rather my watch should receive the update automatically even when I sync it with phone via Garmin Connect or sync from watch using WiFi?
When BLE update 5.04 has been released and then announced as "live", I've waited for couple of days to receive the update via GC sync, but finally updated via Garmin Express. Should I just wait for some more time, or is something going wrong with update feature on my device?
P.S. I have auto update set in watch settings
I´ll kayak this afternoon to test, if the speed spikes within the kayak app are now fixed
perfect!
I'm out in my Kayak in a few hours (I have the v4.40 gps update on my FR 945- I'll report back tomorrow - fingers crossed.
I did a progressive pace run today and I am cautiously optimistic, pace readings were stable despite running under tree cover and along buildings. I did not observe any spikes. Also when stopping and restarting the pace quickly resumed at a correct level.
Let's hope it is as good as it seems. Fingers crossed!
