no audio prompts with 4.40

I was recently updated to 4.40 and now I no longer have audio prompts. Before it successfully updated to 4.40  I had it drain the battery completely over night after it said audio update. Then the firmware updated to 4.40. I see audio prompts are still turned on but they don't work anymore. I've tried to turn them off and back on. I've also fully powered off the watch doing the long press on the power button until it turns off which didn't fix it.

The watch still vibrates when I get out of range. For example I have a prompt to let me know when I exceed HR zone2. It beeps/vibrates but no longer gives me the audio. I also don't get the mile marker audio with lap/pace information.

Anyone know how to reflash the audio firmware?

    I haven't tried recently - tend to use the watch almost exclusively these days for streaming music. I'll take the phone on my run tomorrow and see if it's working!

    So, curiosity got the better of me, I just tried streaming music from the phone, and sure enough got audio prompts (heart rate, lap times etc). I've not changed anything since the last run I did whilst streaming music from the phone (which is close to a month ago) - and at that point audio prompts were definitely *not* working. I can't remember off-hand whether there's been a firmware/Connect upgrade in the intervening period which might explain the fact that it wasn't working then but is working now. 

    Love their watches, but jeez Garmin software can be a bit frustrating at times in terms of reliability!

    Thanks for confirming. I was going to try again today. My android app updated a few days ago. I didn't check the connect forum but my guess would be a problem with the app since mine was working without music but not with music. I dont often carry my phone and mostly stream from watch unless I'm listening to an audible book since there is no native app or easy way to sync bookmarks.

    I have a new 245 - Audio prompts worked for 1 run.  Now they no longer work.  I have tried syncing via USB cable - it did not solve the problem.

    The usual advice. Try rebooting the watch. Toggling the option in the setting.

    I notice the audio prompt had just changed recently.

    It has :( Now it's stupid I know numbers from 0 to 9 and I just pronounce them which is annoying.
