SW 4.10: Is your battery drain issue resolved? (Poll)

  • My tip - try to set this simple default face from Garmin (without seconds!) like this and then observe battery drain for several days...

With ActiFace from CIQ was battery drain around 0.760 - 1.2%/hour (!!!), with Garmin face is only 0.17-0.3%/hour (!!!), so this is absolutely great! After 5 days still 56% (with several recorded activities). With ActiFace was battery drain after night approx. 8-12%, now is only 1-2%!!!

    Some other tips:

    Turn OFF:

    • Wi-fi (sync via Bluetooth and mobile app)
    • PulseOX
    • Backlight (set backlight only for activities, after sunset, intensity 5%, 8s timeout, with gesture)

    Turn ON:

    • Bluetooth
    • NFC (Garmin Pay)
    • Heartrate monitoring (automatic)
    • Smart notifications (calls, SMS)
    • Only GPS (without Glonass and Galileo)

Hopefully it will help someone :-)

  • Worse than with FR 935. According to specs it should be the other way round.

  • Ssme wich mine. FR 935 was much better. having same config and usage.

  • Oh dear lord, is the PulseOx a battery hog!

Seriously, I did what I said I'd do (see above) and in less than 24 hours burned through 37% battery life. Without PulseOx on, I was 8-12% a day.

    What an awful implemented feature.

  • PulseOx IMHO only makes sense to track sleep apnea. Which might be quite useful. But it drains the battery, true. I mean,  when it's on in a dark environment, you can see your wrist glowing red, the LED is incredibly powerful. Most likely that's why it consumes so much power.

  • Finally issues with my battery is resolved, I charge my watch early morning and use it all day like smartwatch. Now I’m very very happy and thinking to stop updates for now.
