It just got worse. 2h ride from 99% to 35%. I never had this draining before.
Yeah! I was waiting such comment. Let's forget Garmin doubled battery drain! Forget about specs, just do sports! :)
Do you realize that it can be a new slogan?
But it doesn't matter. It matter only…
Have you tried this? drain the battery until the Garmin 945 turns off, then charge up to 100%. The battery performs the new calibration. On my 945 the calibration done in this way solved the problem
I don’t really believe it either. But, this is what the battery widget reports. Right now it says 48.9 days left on the battery after charging it today. I have turned off the blood oxygen stuff and I do not play music from the watch. I am using a built-in watch face. It is connected to my iPhone. It may be a problem with the widget. But, I am getting 24 hours of non gps use with less then 10 percent battery drain quite regularly. Usually it is around 7 or 8 percent in 24 hours.
I find it interesting that people are believing a battery widget of dubious quality created by a 3rd party is providing reliable information. How do they know that this 3rd party widget is giving them accurate information? How is the widget calculating battery usage?
They don't know but they'd rather use the information to beat Garmin up than get out in the field and actually use the watch.
I don't use a battery widget, but I'm losing roughly 40% battery overnight. Last night around 19:00 I charged to a 100% and reset my watch (holding power button 20 seconds), now at 11:00 am with one indoor cycling workout without gps I'm at 62%. No third party widgets or apps installed.
Currently I'm at 4.10 but this was no better in 4.0. I think the best firmware was 2.80 or 3.30 battery wise. I'm really disappointed with Garmin in this.
Just q quick update... still have 66% of battery left. SPO2 on all the time, no more activity, but went down about 16% in just under a day (about 0.8% per hour). Way better than it was. Not perfect but suits me well.
