Forerunner 945 accuracy GPS 2.60

Hi All,

My 945 reccently updated to FW 3.30 with GPS 2.60 and the accuracy (especially at the start of a run) has gotten really bad (see below):

Also the distance at the start of has been terrible up to 100m out after 800m. It seems to get better after the first couple of km.

I haven't really seen many other people complaining about the 2.60 gps firmware so wondering if there's any settings that may have changed during the update?

I read throught htat one but people are talking about 100-200m over 15km. I can't see anyone who's getting such bad results over a short distance which is why I thought it might be a setting on the watch and not the gps 2.60 per say.

hello - first - we don't need another post having almost the same title and described issues as the other one :-). before starting a new thread, please check out the existing ones - it would make much more sense to have all the gps related contributions in one place. second - check if your watch is set for 1 sec recording, gps+glonass, let it soak about 30 secs before hitting start...and unfortunately that's it all.

With FW 3.30 I had similar problem, but now with 3.90 / 4.00 it's OK, no problems.

I have the same issue. Way off sometimes at beginning or end of the run. More recently my 945 is either not connecting to a gps signal at all or today connecting but wildly wrong - the track was all over the place. All comments from a standard run that I do frequently. Anybody else having problems with gps at the moment? Any suggestions?

I let my 945 ‘soak’ for nearly 5 mins (at least I did a full warm up!) but still didn’t get a signal. Having major problems with gps recently. Not sure if watch is off or it’s another Garmin Software glitch.

Check the other threads discussing GPS issues. Pay particular attention to posts about the CPE file.

thanks for responding but I am new to this forum and unfortunately have no idea how to view the other threads in this conversation - it only seems to show 6 or 7 threads and try as I might I cant find a way to see more. I also don't know what a CPE file is. Any pointer you can give me would be very much appreciated. Not having GPS working is irritating to say the least.

Done. Finally found the CPE file. All of my software is up to date (it is connected to GE regularly) and CPE is showing as current.
