Forerunner 945 Series SW 4.00 is now live

This update can be downloaded with Garmin Express or automatically through Garmin Connect Mobile. 

Change Log

  • Fixed an issue with ephemeris downloads over BLE which could cause units to experience slow GPS fix times.

Note: We understand that there are users who have reported decreased battery life since the 3.90 update. There is nothing in 4.00 that addresses this and we would first ask that anyone seeing this symptom perform a hard reset by holding the power button down until the device turns off before charging to 100% again. If this is not successful then you are experiencing an issue that we are actively investigating.

    HRM-TRI dropouts are now a thing. Workout yesterday on 3.90 was fine. Today dropouts galore. The only difference is 4.00 between the two workouts. Anyone seeing this?

    I've updated mine last night and the alarm was ok in the morning

    I have updated mine also yesterday to 4.0. The drain dropped from 2.5 to 0.27%hr. And overnight the drain became even less, it was 0.16%hr in the morning. But it increased during the day to 0.3. And it;s already 1.2%hr after 25 hours. Looks like some leaking software. The only problem to find this software. P.S. I didn't have a high battery drain before the 3.9 update. .

    Still on 2.80 here in APAC. Hard to believe Garmin hasn't screwed up somewhere with this ROTW / APAC division.

    I have battery problems too since I updated to 3.90.

    The update to 4.00 was installed during this night (~4 AM).

    What I know I fully charged my garmin 245 yesterday at 6PM and today at 9AM. I only have 55% of battery without any activity.

    A classic night discharge is around -> (5-10% battery) for me

    WIth this update during the night -> 40%

    I will install again the battery monitor widget to have factual data. I'm charging now the garmin 245 and will perform a hard reset.

    We have no choose to be BETA tester of Garmin firmware ! (only one solution return to a very old firware and refuse update)

    did you perform the reset as instructed? beta or not, a hard reset after each update is recommended.

    Since 3.77 beta to 4.0 Komoot no longer works. You can access the Komoot account via the clock but you can't load tracks on the clock anymore. With downgrade to 3.30 everything works again.

    I've also noticed, that GPS tracking became much less accurate after the 3.9 upgrade (4.0 has the same problems). So, the high battery drain, inaccurate GPS, what else was "improved"? Is there any way to roll back to 3.30?
