Forerunner 945 won't connect to hidden wi-fi SSID

Bump. Does anyone else have this problem? Or, is there anyone who can confirm it works for them (i.e., your FR945 *is* able to connect with a hidden SSID)?

The last Garmin watch that was able to connect with a hidden SSID was the 630 for me (if I remember correctly). I remember when I got my F5/935 I had to make the SSID visible. Since then I have it like that thus I can't tell you if it worked again in between.

There have been lengthy discussions regarding this behavior (maybe by design?) but at the end it's no protection anyway. Someone who want's to fiddle with your WLan will for sure not be stopped by a hidden SSID.

Hidden SSIDs are not a good thing for low power devices as instead of just passively listening to beacons from the Access Points containing the netork name, the device has to actively query the APs to check if they are part of that network.

It's also a privacy issue as it makes you trackable as your portable device will constantly broadcast the network name when it's searching for those hiddent network.

Overall a BAD design, please avoid using hidden networks.

You can't. You have to expose the SSID.
