Activity won't sync with Forerunner 945

Trying to sync my crossfit workout (cardio setting) and although the intensity minutes show on the summary page, they are absent in the detail and the activity itself won't sync. I have restarted the watch and the phone several times with no success. The data is clearly visible on my watch. Calories seem to have been counted as well. Now the watch won't sync at all.

    Tried deleting the app from my iphone 8 and reinstalling. That didn't work. Will try calling helpdesk.

    Next update: called help desk and they had me both delete the Connect app from the phone AND have the bluetooth forget the device. That might work for some but didn't work for me so he had me connect the watch and then delete a series of files (the activity file is the one that tends to get corrupted files more often). I wouldn't do this on your own but if you have tried all the other self-help options without success, I would call them. 

    That seems to have worked as of yesterday afternoon and 3 activities.

  • Completed activity data are stored as .fit files in the ACTIVITY folder on your watch. Connect your watch to a computer. On Windows the watch will mount as GARMIN; on a Mac you’ll need to get hold of something like Android FIle Transfer (it's free). In the Activity sub-folder you’ll see all your activity files. You can pull all of them out and empty the folder without any problem. I suggest you do that and save them to a safe location on your computer somewhere. 

    If you want to be more granular you can track down what might be the problematic file by just taking out the files around the time your problem started.

  • Stop wasting so much time on this.  The problem is gcm.  You can do everything people post on here, but those won’t work for long.  Just wait till Garmin fixes their phone app.   This problem affects all Garmin products using GMC on an iPhone.   

  • Yeah just sync error every time here, plus the endless save and crash loop, also my fitness load doesn’t seem to o be working, 945 and connect mobile app are absolutely horrendous software right now. Tried full reset of watch and everything (which would remove corrupted files), no good. 

  • GCM syncs with my 935, Vivosport via Bluetooth on a iphone with ios 13.1.13 with out isues. but my 945 doesn't with the beta firmware 3.08

  • If you aren't on the latest version of GCM, of course it works.  Even the new update today.  Does nothing but make you think it's fixed, until you give it a few hours and realize it isn't.  Same sync error and then you notice the temperature never changes on weather.  It gets stuck.  Broke again.
