Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Forerunner 945 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Forerunner945_308Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. In Forerunner945_308Beta, go to the RemoteSW folder. Place the GUP3114.GCD and GUP3303.GCD file in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  5. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-280.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-280.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. To revert the RemoteSW, place the RemoteSW\Downgrades\GUP3114-250.GCD and RemoteSW\Downgrades\GUP-3303-360.GCD in the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • a better solution would be an initial confirmation and afterwards an email saying that the bug has been reproduced successfully and will be fixed in the next release - that's how we used to do it; also - a published list of the reported bugs with the corresponding status; from my perspective we're the end customer and garmin the solutions provider, so we should be kept in the loop, not in the dark...:-)

  • I submitted a bug via email where music (Spotify) cuts out on Bluetooth headphones (although headphones stay connected) after roughly 10 min into an activity. Can reproduce every time, and was never an issue before installing the Beta.

  • Oh yes... Next step would be open source. And the step after that: free open source.

  • :-) no, but i can imagine the following scenario: garmin sells you a bare watch with the 'garmin os' installed and on top you add the apps that you want :-). say- you buy the watch for 300$, add running for 40$, ows for 20$, normal performance stats for 40$ or advanced stats for 60$ and so on. they somehow started it with the fenix line and my guess is that that's where they're heading (the whole industry actually).

  • Hello, is there any information as to whether the new widgets design will be adopted by Fenix 6? Thanks!

  • happened to me too! what's even worse is that it happened on my second part of the run that day. To be precise, i ran 10k tempo, then saved an activity, started a new one and ran slowly to recover for another 8 km. The first one is fine, but the second run altitude is "stairlike".

  • Does PacePro work for anyone on 3.08 beta? I created a route in GCM iOS. Everything looked good. Started my run but the mile stayed at .99 always said I was behind .9 minutes, no matter how fast I ran. At the end of each mile PP said I was behind. What’s the use of PacePro if it doesn’t tell us in real time how far or ahead we are pace wise? Hopefully the next beta or release fixes this issue.

  • I read on DC Rainmaker that it's forthcoming. Doesn't look like this update, so maybe the next one?

  • Assuming he means all-day respiration tracking and not just post-activity.

  • In Music Control, something is broken:

Normally I use the Music -> control mobile to control Spotify on my mobile while showering etc. In older releases, I was able to see artist, artwork and song name. This is gone now, I only get the progress in the green circle around.
