battery drain in FW 2.80 very high 50% more

since FW 2.80 my battery drain goes up to 50% more as before, haven't changed anything on my setup!

before FW 2.80 for 24h arround 7-8%

now with FW 2.80 in 12 hours the same, lost 8%

  • sure, to prove the opposite is good, but 2 days resting day, without any activities, only Pulse OX during night 50% battery drain, instead of 7-8% a day, arround 15-18% a day, same setup as on FW before, nothing changed

  • Agreed, 30-35% for two days without GPS activity is bad. Does Garmin listen?

  • Former Member what do you think about following?

Garmin make the possibility so that the user can configure how often they want to measure the Pulse OX, so every User have more control over it.

for example, User A configure he wants to measure every hour the Pulse OX, User B wants to measure every 30 minutes and User C only every 6 hour or so?

More or less have the User more control of the Battery drain for Pulse OX measurement?

think it's a win/win Situation for both sides?

  • witht disabled Pulse Oxy i have 2% battery lost in 12 hours over night, as soon, as i enable Pulse Oxy for sleeping and disable it again, the Battery drain is high!

  • isn't automatic measurement during daytime pretty uselesse because of too much movement? interval settings during sleep would be a great idea.

  • sure, when you do a manual measurement, the widget tells you to not move, don't know if the 24h measurement have a special logic to measure and measures only, when you don't move arround or so?

I already tried this, and although the battery is less consumed, I see that the consumption is high, regularly I had 4% per day, HR + SPOX. The difference I see is that it now registers SPOX all night, more than 4 hours, the manual says it only registers 4 hours but now it does it for longer.

  • These are questions. Please don't mark it as an answer.

  • I made an observation but it's for sure no solution yet, nor a statistics. For everyone who has problems with the battery, please try the following: please don't unplug the watch immediately after it's showing 100 percent but let it plugged for another hour. I observed that the battery drain is then very low at the beginning of the discharge cycle. Maybe there is a problem when the  battery is marked as full during charging. As I said  only an observation.

  • You really have usage at 4% of the battery per day? With what settings And watch face?
