CPE expired

hi all,

The satellite acquisition is really slow on my 945 be old 235. I see CPE expired. I've tried syncing with Garmin connect on my phone but still expired. Any ideas on how to fix? It's like this even after a long run.

We have escalated this issue and are working on a permanent fix. There are situations where devices will show expired CPE data when this has in fact synced to the device. We apologize for the inconvenience…

Update: Wifi sync resulted in refresh of CPE.

Update 2: stil this only lasted for 1 day, the next day again "CPE expired"

Actually there currently is a problem with Garmin's GCM Sync and CPE updates. Although the watch is synced daily via GCM the CPE still expires. And I do not refer to the menu display, it really expires…

Sounds like you need to sync your device to refresh satellite location information.

Well, that's what he already tried.

SteveBUK Do you have a chance to connect to a PC with Garmin Express? Sometimes that works better than updating via BT.

I usually start a manual WiFi sync of my 945 before I go out for a run and I have no CPE issues. But this triggered sync is because I wear the 945 only for running and I want to get in-sync with the data my Fenix 5+ recorded (that's my all-day watch) before I add additional data from the 945 side.

Hello,

Same problem. Despite regular, almost daily sync and GPS activity today, my watch shows "Expired".

Put the service ticket with Garmin.

Mine showed expired initially, but I did a GPS soak and then had to sync via Garmin Express and Wi-Fi several times, and now it says current.

Hi all,

I connected to my mac and it is now set as current. I hope I don't always need to do so as I don't really use express. Daft Q, but how do I try a wifi sync from the watch rather than a phone bluetooth sync?

We have escalated this issue and are working on a permanent fix. There are situations where devices will show expired CPE data when this has in fact synced to the device. We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime. Syncing at least once every seven days will in fact refresh this data despite what the menu might say.

You can force a wifi synch by selecting wifi from a control.

The sounds like the same issue I am having on my 935 with the EPO. Will the fix be for both?

Got same issue on my vivoactive 4.. CPE update only work via garmin express sync only
