hi all,
The satellite acquisition is really slow on my 945 be old 235. I see CPE expired. I've tried syncing with Garmin connect on my phone but still expired. Any ideas on how to fix? It's like this even after a long run.
Thanks
Steve

We have escalated this issue and are working on a permanent fix. There are situations where devices will show expired CPE data when this has in fact synced to the device. We apologize for the inconvenience…
Update: Wifi sync resulted in refresh of CPE.
Update 2: stil this only lasted for 1 day, the next day again "CPE expired"
Actually there currently is a problem with Garmin's GCM Sync and CPE updates. Although the watch is synced daily via GCM the CPE still expires. And I do not refer to the menu display, it really expires…
Suggest you post on the vivoactive forums, especially as this thread is 10 months old and for the 945. More likely there to see if it is a common problem with your watch.
Funnily, it seems to matter HOW you sync with GCM to have a refreshed CPE download.
E.g. you open the app and perform the first sync by tapping the blue sync icon in the top right corner. This usually works, but sometimes does not update the CPE.
If you then go to the left menu and select Garmin Devices and perform a sync THERE, it will in most cases properly update.
ONLY if you see a "sync failed" message with a red exclamation mark in Garmin Devices after the sync, there is a chance that the update failed for some reason. Unfortunately I do not know why it sometimes fails there and sometimes not, totally erratic.
Yup. I think better post there.. Thanks

It seems that GCM only will update the CPE once it is expired. But apparently NOT with every sync as it originally should have been.
Would make sense for Garmin to investigate that behaviour.
Did you manage to fix the problem? Thanks
Any fix to this yet? I'm experiencing this problem as of that past 2 weeks on my 945. I also feel like my battery is suddenly draining more noticeably than usual, if that's related at all. Running SW 4.40 and no amount of syncing to Garmin Express or Connect Mobile is updating the CPE. (There is a Garmin Express maps update available - 7.0.0.0 - but it starts by asking what language to use on the watch and english is not an option, so I haven't done it.)
Not a real fix but some sort of workaround:
If that fails, I would suggest to fully uninsall the app and reinstall it again, but that step was not necessary for me when following above procedure
