I'm on my second replacement 945 but UP button is still sticky. I'm giving up hope and I don't want to change it again and loose more time on this. Garmin should really act more professional on this matter…
It seems to be a common issue, mine does it also but since the buttons still work even if sticking I don't want the hassle of returning it and not having a watch.
and there is already a thread about…
Weird, this post got closed by Garmin the moment I posted it. Must have gotten reopened when we switched to the new forum.
After getting my third 945 I decided that the buttons would have to be good enough and what I did to make it better (much better) is I turned on key vibrate so every time I press a button I get that vibration feedback and it's actually better than a button click. My buttons are ok, but the key vibe really helps.
Hi everyone,
I have a Fenix 5x Plus, I see it's not 945, but may I reply here since I see many posts about "mushy button" here.
I am not quite sure what does the mean of "mushy/soft", but my situation is:
I received my Fenix 5x plus 6 days ago, after 6 days usage, I cannot feel "2-steps click" on any of the 5 buttons, I can only feel the button is directly clicked to the end with the sound "clicking" responding.
But at the first day, they are felt like "2-steps click" brought 2 times "click" sounds - 1 time at half of the clicking, 1 time when the button clicked to the end.
Would you mind share your idea or experience: Is this the "mushy" status you are talking about?
Thank you.
H
Hi H,
Three button issues experienced:
1. As you described, this odd 2-step click on some
2. Almost no click at all - spongy-mushy-soft
3. Button sticking - pushing button in and it doesnt really come back and then does't respond to pushes well
Stereo,
I am sorry to hear this experience. How you handle this? Ask for a replacement will help?
Yesterday I talked to some members in the forum, I now understand no matter 2 times "click" sound or 1 time "click" sound during the 1 time pressing, can be taken as not a big problem. Since user is able to clearly hear the "click" sound as response.
The mushy/soft feeling feels like press the button on a Casio sport watch.
What I am only concerning is, only after 6 days common usage, some all 5 buttons from 2 times "click" sound to 1 time only, then...it might not be a long time after, buttons will be come to real mush/soft one.
But I choose to keep the current watch, since I also see some posts mentioned the replaced one does not help, even worse issue.
Thanks for your reply.
H
Garmin have said new watches have this button issue resolved and to exchange for a new one now - anyone care to do so and post back as to the result? I've swapped mine a few times already so am not keen to go again until there is proof.
