I think most of those features will be coming to 945LTE. DCR confirmed.
Garmin confirmed tonight that the FR945 LTE will mirror the FR955, with the minor exception that “Map Improvements will not include…
am reading INBOUND for the 965 - 265, guess inbound = to be released
regarding FR965-256 as posted a few weeks back, Garmin internal testing is being done on the 16.xx firmware
and 945LTE has a bit more…
The 945LTE tends to be weeks to months behind it's "peers" on past beta releases, so maybe it's still coming.
I'm also not sure anyone ever committed to the 945LTE getting any of these…
I guess the 945LTE is not in the first tier (not the newest model) but will receive the update in the next few weeks.
FWIW the 965 didn't get those updates either.
I had a 945 LTE before and I recall having read in the forums before that the 945LTE Firmware update process takes longer due to the LTE carrier involvement , I am not sure if that is a valid point or or not however.
I do not know the details but according to the5krunner the update is available for all the top end Forerunner and Fenix. Maybe the 965 already has the new features contained in the update?

I'm also not sure anyone ever committed to the 945LTE getting any of these updates - although it is their current highest tier LTE watch, so maybe we can hope.
One more week is over and no news concerning software update for FR 945 LTE.
Just two years after release date, I'm afraid we are at the end of software updates bringing new features to our watch, even when the hardware is still perfectly capable of supporting them.
From now on we might just see bug fixes and safety patches.
If it makes you feel any better the 965 also hasn't had the updates. There were many issues with the recent 955 release.
See DCR comments here regarding delays on the 965 side.
Interesting discussion, I see your point and I I really hope to be wrong.
But I was also reading some comments on DCR web pages where people think the the update cycle of the 945LTE might be over, that's why I posted here hoping to get some insight from more informed people.
It's clear that software updates will stop at some point, but I would appreciate if this happens once the new features cannot be ported due to hardware limitations, or at least when a new Forerunner model with maps and top features is available in a size smaller than 45mm.
FYI, I had the 945LTE and 955 and have the 965 currently. It isn't really much bigger. In fact its thinner than the 955 (for example) and feels much more comfortable to me. I just don't realise its on my wrist.
Unfortunately on my small wrist the 945LTE is already at the limit, I tried the 965 at the local Garmin store as soon as it was available and it's just too large.
I also know other men and many women with the same issue. I don't get why Garmin doesn't make a top Forerunner model with a 1.3" screen in a compact size, for sure it's not a technical reason as they already do it with the Venu 2 Plus.
