Disable lap button during workouts

I totally vote for this, ruined a workout or two especially frustrating if it happens a couple of km into the workout drove me nuts.

Last time it happened in the middle of a 23km workout and I was tempted of throwing the watch in the sea ahah

It seems that the Fenix line and I guess all models have this behaviour. Some easy fix could be:

- Disable the lap button when a workout warning appears 

- Add a hotkey for the back button, so users can have the certainty to press the back button when they want to 

- Respect the lap button off preference. Users can still use the lap button with the hotkey if they want to during a workout 

- Letting the user disabling workout warnings 

Also, what could be nice and would work for my specific situation is adding hotkeys for controlling the map (zoom in/out) so I don't have to go through the menu and back all the time

I also run into this problem a lot. My workaround has been to just not press the back button during a workout. For example if I bring up the music screen I’ve found that it auto-dismisses after 30 seconds.

It stinks to have to be afraid of pressing a button, and I’d like this fixed too, but hope this is helpful. 

yep, I've decided to press the lap button before running until the end of the workout, and then I start the workout from there. It still counts as workout. I only have problems with long runs when I have to use the map, but in that case the workout is very simple so I can just follow this method

Came here because I was looking for a way to do this too. I've disabled my lap key on my 945 and this setting gets respected during regular use for running, but when I am doing a running workout, it gets ignored. Very annoying, and also inconsistent for the setting not to be respected across the various activities. Or at least letting me set it for workouts too.

I also vote for this feature. Any updates yet?

I agree this is annoying, but as speculated elsewhere, one reason for this decision might be that some workouts have a step that doesn't end until you press LAP.

(I'm not defending this decision at all, just trying to make sense of it.)

If there was a way to undo the mistake through the menu that would be fine.
