Random countdown to Power Save for no apparent reason

Every now and then, even when the battery is full, my Forerunner 945 LTE will buzz on my wrist and I'll look to see why and it's saying "Power Save" and there's a countdown ring slowly counting down to a moment when, presumably, something is going to happen related to something called Power Save that I don't even know what it is. I think it's fair to assume it has something to do with saving battery power but when this happens while batter is above 95% it's truly strange. Would love to know what's going on here.

It should do that when your watch is in training mode, yet nothing is happening. Like you've entered "run" but haven't pressed start for an extended period. You can set it for normal (5 minutes) or extended (25 minutes). Do that for each of the activity profiles.

Weird because I don't think that was the case and can't even think how it could have been the case - getting to a training mode reqiures some intent and at least two button presses, on opposite sides of the watch, so very unlikely to happen by accident, and I know I had't started a training mode and then forgotten about it before the final press... Maybe a bug...

This just happened to me too on FR 255. I was just sitting and working.at my laptop. I am sure I did not press the activity button. I think GPS may be trying to access signal for some other reason and failing at home so eventually power save comes on. Just an idea. I bug anyway in my opinion.

I have the same watch; this is what I was told to fix it. Just tried it tonight, we'll see.
Power Manager > Battery Saver > Edit > Watch Face.

I have the same behaviour. It is very seldom but it happens and it happen often enough to be sure that I didn't press any buttons.

It should not have something to do with Battery Saver. That option does only set if you want to have a low energy watchface when you are in battery saver mode. The countdown is (as stated above), when you are about to start an activity (active GPS etc) but don't proceed for a specific time.

Whenever I get this, pressing the back button will always move me back to the list of activities under the start button. Is everyone definite it is not accidentally pushed.

Can't be definite, but I previously owned a 920xt, 935 and fenix 6s pro. Never had this once on any of these watches, but multiple times on the f945lte, so yeah, I'm pretty confident that this is a bug and not me accidently pushing the button. On the other hand, it happens quite rarely, so it's not the worst bug. Would be nice to have Garmin sort it out nevertheless.

I get this on my Forerunner 255 music regularly. No reason. No ongoing training or activity, nothing. Just pops up randomly during the day. Pretty annoying.

I have also been a longtime Garmin user since the 910xt and never had this issue until the 945. It has been happening to me randomly approximately 3-10x a day or night. I am confident I’m not accidentally pushing any buttons and I plan to report it to Garmin.

Version 17.28 on the 945 lte

battery safer pop up a few times per day and battery is drainer 3x faster then usual.
