Temperature stops showing on watch face

I have an issue on my 945 lte where the temperature does not show on the watch face until I go to the weather widget. Once I go to the weather widget the temperature shows on the watch face for a little bit but then disappears again. This did not happen until the last update.

Hello; that data is coming from the weather widget on the watch; when you go to the weather widget does the weather widget have to reload? If yes, are you on iOS or Android? I've left my watch on that watch screen for a couple of hours and haven't seen this occur. When it occurs is your phone within range, and does your phone have cell service if it does?

I am on Android, I have my phone on me while this is happening and my phone does have cell service. When I scroll to the weather widget it shows no data for about 1 second, then once it loads it shows the correct weather data and I can go back to my watch face and it will have the temperature showing correctly. After about 10 minutes the temperature clears again and I just have to repeat the process of scrolling to the weather widget and having it load. I did not notice this happening until after the latest watch update.

Mine does the same and I’m on iOS. iPhone is always on me and close to the watch. I have to open Garmin connect on my phone and it’ll update on the widget then it’ll update on the watch face. I have background refresh on my iPhone on and location services always on for Garmin connect. Same issue.

Just for anyone else who has this problem, I was able to permanently fix the issue by going to System > Time > Sync With GPS

The temperature hasn't disappeared since I did that.

I tried this and it is still showing up blank on my watch face. Is anyone still having this issue/know how to fix? Thank you!

yeah, having this issue too. It has been happenng periodically for me every couple of months, I guess it'll be fixed again soon

Does anyone know where these settings are hiding? There's nothing in the Connect app for "System" or "Time" or "GPS", nor is it in the device itself. I literally cannot follow these instructions as given because the prompts don't exist on my deivce or phone. Help?

On the device itself:

- Hold the UP button for settings

- Press UP to scroll to System (pressing DOWN would also work, but you'd have to press it many more times), and press START to select it

- Press DOWN to scroll to Time, and press START to select it

- Press DOWN as many times as necessary to scroll to Sync with GPS, and press START to select it

To summarize all of of that I would probably type:

Hold UP for settings > System > Time > Sync with GPS

Some people who've had a Garmin watch for a long time probably naturally omit the "Hold UP for Settings" part.

For me, the problem was on the Android Phone GPS permissions for the Garmin Connect App. I set the permission for All the Time instead of During App Use, and worked.
