Garmin-Brooks - any comment from Garmin on whether this issue is being tracked/worked or if any if the current beta firmware (3.05) or next beta firmware will address this?
Is pulseox on? That's a battery eater...
My battery has been draining quickly, too, it seems. Most recently it drained much faster than I expected over the past 24 hours (I would guess 2% per hour) with no activities and LTE off. I have noticed…
I'm noticing significant battery drain compared to my older 945 and it's becoming an issue. I'm not sure the watch would last for a full marathon or dare I say Ironman event with LTE broadcasting on... Been looking for a fix or software update but nothing so far. One big thing I'm noticing with the watch: It's constantly pairing to my Stryd foot pod in standby mode, which makes me think that it's trying to pair with other accessories too. I can tell this is the case because the Stryd is constantly lighting up when the watch is physically near it.
I noticed pretty significant battery drain moving over from a 935. I've been playing around with different settings in the Battery Saver mode. Right now, disabling wifi, phone connect, and music seems to get the usage back to more normal drain. LTE is left unchanged. I did one experiment where I turned the phone connection back on, while leaving wifi and music disabled, and the drain appeared to come back. Not sure if the phone and watch are constantly exchanging data or not. I continue with experiments trying to pin down a single variable
i too have seen a lot more battery drain outside of activities relative to my 935. my favorite watch face JBlack used about 6.2%/day, but with the same watch face and similar settings on my 945LTE, its burning at roughly 8+%/day.
have wifi, music, LTE disabled, but phone connected. i had my phone connected with the 935 so i feel this is an apples to apples comparison. [no PulseOx on] i don't know if the newer widgets and/or other background activities are more power intensive than they were on my 935.
i'm still trying to a handle on burn rate while in activity. based on a few hours this weekend (GPS, no GLONASS or Galileo), i am seeing close to 3%/hour (can't be more specific in decimal place than that), so it's roughly in line with specs. my 935 burned at 4.2-4.5%/hr, so this is an improvement. (again, similar settings)

I still have battery drain issues, even after the latest upgrade (4.16), I have LTE turned off, no pulse OX and it is going down like 1% per hour.
I have the last stable version since monday . 10% battery drain in the last 12h, from 96% to 86%. All connections OFF (in theory), no OX, no BT, no WIFI, only HR for sleep purpose, no custom watchfaces, nothing from IQ . From bad to worse, Garmin...
I believe it’s a software issue. When I do a workout with HR or power sensors after that workout it will drain at 5% per hour at least unless I turn it off and turn it back on. Then it’s 1% every couple hours. And it only starts once I connect up a sensor. It’s like it’s still searching for the device well after the activity is over draining the battery through the ANT or Bluetooth radio
I noticed exactly the same behaviour after upgrading to 4.16. Need to hard reset after the workout with the chest strap on or battery drains from almost 100 to 0 in under 24 hours
Batterie goes down quickly at the moment ... maybe after the last FW update?
Was on more then 90% and after 1H down to 50% ... had also issues to connect to the HR TRI Belt as it did not connect even after a battery change afterwards... took a while and several attempts. Connected just fine with my Edge
I actually am on with support as my 945LTE died at mile 19 (2:44:00) of the California International Marathon. I was using Livetrack via my phone and was playing music through the watch. It was so deflating to have my watch die. Thank goodness I had my phone so I could at least turn on my stryd app to continue recording my time and power as that is what I train with.
I can't believe the battery can't last at least 4 hours with Livetrack and music on, as those are the major selling features of this watch and not everyone is running a marathon in under 2:40!!
I have the latest 4.16 on the watch with stock watch face and no apps were used. So I am waiting to hear what they have to say as a remedy.
