22mm watch bands

The 745 seems to have some kind of new way to swap out watch bands ?

it possible to swap out the watchband for a regular 22mm watch band ? Or do you have to use Garmins own watch bands ?

Is it quick or "advanced" ?

Im using the 645 by changing the watch bands with quick release for a silicon band when I run and a leather band for everyday use.

As I understand both quickrelease 22 and quickfit 22 should fit on the 745. (Have ordered quickfit 22, so I will know in a day or two)

The QuickFit 22 bands will work fine with the 745 follow the instructions in the manual takes about 5 mins to do.

I got an answer from Garmin now, and unfortunately the 22mm quickrelease bands (used by vivoactive 4 and others) will not fit.

"Thank you for contacting Garmin. I'm sorry but the Quick Release 22mm bands used for the vivoactive 4 will not work with a Forerunner 745."

According to their website it is possible to install Quickfit 22 mm

Quickfit 22mm - Yes

Quickrelease 22mm - No

I want to be able to use non-garmin watch bands with quickrelease like I do with my Garmin 645 Music:

Just to clarify - Quickfit is used in Garmin Fenix models, and you can only get watch bands from Garmin:
(or maybe ebay)

Quickrelease is used by many other Garmin models, and you can get a band from almost any watch band maker:

I installed a couple of 22mm Quick Release bands and they fit but the pin diameter is smaller than spring bar that comes with the 745. So they "fit" but the spring bar is pretty loose in the lugs on the watch. I pulled on them pretty aggressively and they did not pop out but it still made me a bit leery about how secure they really were. Probably fine for day to day wear but I would not be comfortable riding or swimming where falling off could end up with damage or loss.

Thats exactly how I did it - running, biking, Crossfit - all no Problem - until now it stayed in place - and a apple style sport loop velcro strap is very comfortable and makes the heart rate more reliable - as it can be adjusted as you want it , and it makes the watch way lighter - 34 g with velcro - 47 g with silicone - i wonder why garmin does not design such straps for their watches (like coros did)
