Hey, guys (and gals)! Check this out:

Look at the very bottom of that website. There are tips suggesting that 24 hours of battery life can be…
Sure, it is pointless to discuss what a device doesn’t have.
Just as pointless as asking people on a forum not to discuss what a device doesn’t have.
At least the first discussion is fun. Just…
Just a question. If you don’t want a discussion (which you call complaining) why are you on a forum?
personally I would love to see a device without all the gimmicks like sleeptracking, bodybattery etc, and with great batterylive. Now I have to buy the most expensive watch garmin has to offers.
Sorry for giving my opinion. (And sure I know garmin will never make a watch that 100% covers my needs. And neither will Suunto, Polar, Apple or anyone else. But that will never stop me talking about one)
I have no problem with people having an issue with a device because it doesnt do what it says it will do, ie something not working properly, but complaining that a device the 745 doesnt meet your needs is stupid. If it doesnt meet your needs go buy something else.
Stop wasting your life with if buts and maybe's. It is what it is. period. If you dont like it, dont buy it.
However, if Garmin put a request out for a wish list for the next FR 845 then of course it makes sense to discuss features and desires because it might actually make a difference to the finished product.
The FR 945 does what I want it to do, but I would like a longer battery life and maps, so I bought a Fenix 6X Sapphire and its brilliant for battery life, everything I want and more, but there are issues with FW upgrades that hopefully garmin will solve in the next few months.
I'm not in the market for a 745 - I have a Fenix 5 Plus that does everything I need.
However it's an interesting question - the 245 seems to have longer battery life and obviously the 945 is larger as well, so the 745 is the outlier. Does the 745 have a smaller capacity battery or is something consuming more power vs. the 245?
I am not sure why this thread exists at all.
People are just curious, is why.
I don't like specs and I'm not gonna buy the FR745. Too expensive, too short battery life. And just to be clear, I am not complaining about it. But I can't help but wonder how come just 16 hours?
What I really care about is the fact that the FR745 battery life fits the watch’s purpose. 99% of triathletes will complete 99% of the triathlons way under 16 hours. Besides, of all Garmin watches the FR745 has probably the best design. I have always found my FR945 too large for daily use, including sleep. The FR745’s design is basically perfect! So much so that I don’t see how it could get any better than this in the future. So, I have bought the FR745 and will sell my FR945. I don’t care about see a map in the FR945 tiny screen when I can follow a route in the FR745 (it is arguably better in a small screen!). And charging the watch every several days is totally fine for me. Small batteries also charge faster. Regarding the price... I think the FR745 is fair priced or only slightly overpriced. Again, design has value and it is close to perfect in the FR745.

That”s when it is new. Over the years the batterylive will be reduces. My forerunner 935 is reduces from 24 hours to less than 10 hours in 3 years time. How long are you planning to use your watch?
Second, batterylive isn’t only about the maximum time you can use it, but also what is the chance you can go out for a run without first charging. My long runs take about 3 hours. So when my watch was new there was only a 12% chance the battery wasn’t full enough. Now I have to plan more in advanced when to charge.
Just saying 16 hours now is never a problem is shortsighted. Within 2 years you will be annoyed. Atleast, I am with my forerunner 935.
