Corrupt files

A couple of weeks ago I experienced my Forerunner 35 not uploading activities to garmin connect and therefore starva. I followed advice and used an online fixer but the map and location didn't seem to carry over.

I deleted all old files and restored factory settings, but now it's happened again, not too long after, so clearly amount of files is not the problem.

Anyone else had this problem multiple times? Is it time to use the warranty?

And also, anyone able to fix the file so I get to see the map and location data? It won't let me upload the file here.

hi, sorry to hear about your mishap

with your consent we can have a look at your file with FitFileRepairTool

zip the fit file and upload here in the forum ( a simple drag & drop works)

or provide a link to it on a cloud storage

or send it via pm

while waiting for the repair report back here

the amount of FIT files in the ACTIVITY folder on your FR35
- (when folder contains many fit files time for a backup/clean operation)
the amount of FREE memory on your FR35
- (when low FREE memory, check above and below answer)
are you a MAC user
- (empty BIN on device)
was this activity with a long duration or distance compared to previous activities
- ( long ones use more memory )
was this activty with a pause somewhere during the activity

there are multiple users experiencing the same fault as you have

suggest you call Garmin Support and tell them about your mishap

it looks like the fit file is intact in the watch until the moment it get's saved

Many thanks for your response.

There are 6 FIT files in the activity folder. I don't use a Mac, it goes straight from the watch to garmin connect on a Samsung phone. No it wasn't a long distance. 4.7MB of 5.6MB available. I paused a couple of times when running.A5NE0856.FIT.zip

Thanks very much for this. I will contact them through the warranty however as my concern is it happens repeatedly.
