Bluetooth headphones disconnecting

Hey all,

I'm having issues with the connection to my headphones disconnecting randomly (but usually only once in the first five or so minutes of my run). I had a FR245 music before and bought the 265 hoping to solve the issue. Since it didn't, I also bought new headphones, but the problem still exists. There was one small improvement though: the 245 would often hang for a few minutes trying to reconnect and often it would fail to do so while the 265 seems to at least handle the reconnection better. I only use the Spotify app for playing music.

Does anyone recognize this or have suggestions to fix?

Same problem for me with my new Forerunner 265.

I will go for run, it will be fine for first few minutes, but then will keep dropping in and out every second for about 10 minutes, then will work again…

My new pair of headphones is the Shokz (as it is called now) OpenRun. Before I had the Plantronics Backbeat Fit, which worked flawlessly on my Forerunner 245M for years. I wonder, are you using Spotify to listen to music?

Same here - I have Apple AirPods Pro and it will connect for about 10-15 seconds and then drop. Absolutely ridiculous to have a very good expensive set of headphone with the 265 anddddd they dont work. Does Spotify have something to do with this? I saw someone mention Spotify insinuating that it could be a cause - - -

The watch then has to reconnect to the headphones (as mentioned, this is with a Shokz OpenRun, using the Spotify app). Considering I had the same issue with the Forerunner 245 and a different pair of headphones I surmise this is a problem with the watch firmware.

I'm also having issues with my Aftershokz - I've done all the resets etc on the headphones and they pair fine with my phone but my watch struggles to find them (I've removed them, turned off the watch, repaired). Its becoming a super pain in the neck.

I have the same issue (Sept 2023) brand new Forerunner 265. Tried with multiple different headphones, all disconnect between 1 and 5 minutes of connection

Same issue September 2023. Brand new, out of the box, Garmin Forerunner 265 disconnects after a few minutes, tried with multiple bluetooth headphones. No reply from Garmin as yet.

I'm having repeated and frequent Bluetooth issues with FR 265 with both iPhone 13 and after Shokz. I previously had FR 745 and no issue. Bluetooth is falling out every 5 mins or so. It is so frustrating and really impacts enjoyment of run. Is there a known Bluetooth issue with FR 265. Is this covered under guarantee?

Support swapped mine for another new FR 265. The music on the replacement works - no disconnects. My watch was within the 14 day refund period though so not sure what their policy is outside of this, but it looks like the issue doesn't affect all of the watches.
