Cannot update Connect IQ apps (watchfaces, data fields)

Since several versions (24.x, 25.x, 26.08) I cannot update watchfaces/data fields or download new ones in the Connect IQ app. A notification is displayed: Device update needed, please update device via Garmin Express (translated from German). The watch is up to date, no updates are available via Garmin Connect, via Garmin Express or via Bluetooth on the watch. What can I do?

Please double check to make sure your watch is showing the most recent software version (hold UP, then select System> About). You can find info on the most recent software version at the bottom of this page: Installing the Latest Software On Your Forerunner 255 Series
if it isn't, please try updating the software again and power cycling the watch.

Sorry, but this advice does not help. The watch has the latest updates installed. Via Express, Connect and directly on the watch no update is offered. But still the notification in Garmit IQ says, the watch has to be updated in Express before I can update installed watchfaces/data field or download new ones. Anybody else with the same problem?

What firmware version is your watch on?

Is it just that watch face? If it is then maybe contact the developer.

Software version Bundle 26.08 [DFU-768d81]

Host: 21.22, GPS: 13.00, CIQ: 5.0.2, BMX: 20.6.2, WHR: 20.06.02, ANT/BLE: 0.09, Sensor Hub: 34.13, NFC: 3.4.8, WLT: 3.2.8

The problem exists with several installed watch faces (ASAP, Crystal, Summit v3, etc.) and different data fields (AppBuilder 5, MapIP, Peter's (Race) Pacer, etc.)

The funny thing is, that "Peter's (Hi Vis) Pacer" does not require an update. Maybe it is a problem with the CIQ version?

Downloading new watchfaces or data fields is not possible because of the update notification in Connect IQ.

I am at a loss with this problem...
