Hey - I am able to create a Multisport Workout in the GC App and on the GC Desktop Website, but when trying to sync to my Forerunner 255, i'm being told the device is not compatible even though I've read and been told the device should be compatible. Any ideas?
The kind of Multisport Workout you are referring to (as in structured workout) is a new feature and is only compatible with certain new devices, like FR970. It is not compatible with FR255.
Many people (not Garmin) use "workout" as synonymous with activity (in the Garmin sense), which is why some people might say that any device which supports multisport activities supports multisport workouts, if it's not clear to them in which context "workout" is being used.
For similar reasons, AI/LLMs such as Google Gemini will also misleadingly claim that Forerunner 255 supports "multisport workouts", depending on how you ask.
Notice how Gemini's response (fully screencapped above) makes no mention of the nuance I mentioned above, because it's just an LLM and not an actual person who knows anything about Garmin products or is able to infer what was really meant by "[Garmin] multisport workouts" in the first place.
