HR wrist monitor goes crazy

Hi,

I am having issues with heart rate monitor in Garmin Forerunner 255s music. As you see on the scren - HR spikes unusally during low activities.

I am using this watch for 18 months constantly and since last 4-6 weeks it is going crazy. I cannot belive that during usual daily activity like walking i have zone 2 HR with almost 150 BMP.

I have 25.04 firmware that supposed to fix this issue for according to changelog, but it does not.

I cannot imagine having hr of 150 during simple walk. I dont face any of physiologial sings of this HR.

It does impact my workout analyses, my training prepartaions, and all stuff related to running.

I see two possibilites here:

- please prepare fix for the fix (lol)
- please let me know how do i downgrade my firmware to the last stable version - i think i cannot trust 25.XX updates anymore.

thanks

  • It's become a bit of a joke. Every time they "fix" it they make it worse.  I ran the Berlin Marathon on Sunday (fairly slowly in the heat) and the heart rate chart is laughable.  It jumped into the 190s for a good section of the race before dropping back into the low 160s.

It totally messed up my maxhr and lactate threshold as my hr can only get up to around 176 now.

  • To all folks reading this thread:

Do you have old firmware (from june/july) that you can upload by any chance?
I dont follow their semantic versioning, but i believe it would be something before the major change - 24.XX

I have to say that i am highly dissapointed with this. I totally understand that wrist hr measurements might be innacurate. But this kind inaccuracy makes me think that i have heart problem. And this is exactly the opposite of garmin's mission - improving health.

If such simple statistic like HR is broken, how do i trust other features of this watch?
