No more audio prompts in Forerunner 255 and 55 after firmware update in September 2025

Suddenly, the audio prompts stopped working on September 15, 2025. I only hear the audio prompts when the Garmin Connect app is visible on my phone's screen. Additionally, I only hear the prompts in a strange language: Polish English—it sounds like English, but with a Polish accent. I tried reinstalling the software, trying a different phone, removing and adding the watch—to no avail.

  • For the rest we have to wait for an app update I'm afraid

  • Well - I thought the latest updates (Connect app and watch) had fixed it but sadly not :( 

    Tonight's run the audio prompts were fine until mile 5 then stopped. On checking my phone at the end Connect was open throughout, but there was a "Audio prompts in process" message on the screen. 

    I travel alot with work and build routes to run while I'm in unfamiliar areas. I rely on the audio prompts for turn by turn instructions. I've owned the watch for nearly a year and NEVER had this issue until the latest updates. PLEASE FIX THIS @Garmin.

  • Exactly the same problem with my Vivoactive 5. Sometimes it works for 1km, sometimes a bit longer, but it always crashes here too, and the notifications on my smartphone are frozen, but no audio alerts are played. This is really annoying, and I hope it gets fixed soon...
